The aim
The aim of the Social Section is to raise funds for the good of the club, and the benefit of the members.
We do this in a number of ways. On a weekly basis; By Star Nights; Annual events; And Charity functions.

Weekly
We run a lotto bonus ball, with a prize of £25 for the Saturday winner, and £10 going to the Wednesday winner. During the football season we have a ‘predictascore’, with a weekly payout of 60% to the winner. And an extra payout going to the first person to reach 100pts. Plus an end of season payout for the person who gets the highest score throughout the season. This competition is very popular and creates a friendly rivalry amongst the participants.

Star Nights
The Star Nights are something special. Top line artists are a priority depending on the function. In the not to distant past we have had the pleasure of ‘The Searchers’ ‘Dave Berry’ ‘Bernard Manning’ ‘Stephen Bayliss’. Who have performed at the club. Plus a host of top after dinner speakers for the Sportsman’s Dinners, which are run by and on behalf of the sports sections. It is our intention to book the best artists available, and if possible use local talent where applicable.

Annual Events
These events include Easter egg hunt/fun day, aiming to give the children and adults a good day out using the grounds of the club for outdoor fun activities.
At Christmas we have a kiddies party held in the function room with games and entertainment to keep the little ones occupied, allowing the parents time to themselves to sample the fine beers and ales in the games room.
New Years Eve is the ‘big one’. Top line artist, disco, fun games, excellent buffet, all for a very reasonable price. A very popular event.

Charity Functions
These events are organised in conjunction with local charities to help raise funds for the less privileged in the community; they are usually run on the same format as Star Nights.
