The Tennis club is situated in a lovely setting in the grounds of Fox Lane Sports and Social club, backing on to the award winning Worden Park.

The Tennis Club sports 4 all weather courts, 3 of which have recently been resurfaced and painted and the 4th court has recently been painted.

We have floodlights on 2 courts for night time social, friendlies, league matches and coaching, juniors and adults by our LTA coach Dave Morgan. Dave's son George who has just turned 15yrs won the Tennis Orange Bowl in Miami in December 2007, and is one of our most promising juniors in Great Britain.

The Tennis Club house has ladies and gents changing rooms and kitchen facilities. In the winter we put our Table Tennis Table and if the weather is to bad to play outside we can have nice social afternoons playing Table Tennis.

From the windows of the club house you can view the tennis courts, bowling green and cricket field.

If the weather is kind there is seating overlooking the tennis courts, so you can see the action first hand, whilst watching one of the many tennis tournaments we hold including the Annual Club Tournament.
Dates of the tournaments and other details can be seen on the newsletter page.

Extra information:-

The Morgan brothers play and practice at Leyland Tennis Club.

Robert (aged 16) and George (aged 15) started playing tennis aged 5yrs and 4 yrs respectively, firstly in a family environment, then progressing to group and individual coaching. Originally both from Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, they were both No1 county players for their own age group. As they progressed in their tennis they needed a better training environment. This led to Robert leaving home at 12 yrs, on his own, to live in Horwich and train at the Bolton Arena Tennis Centre. George followed him 4 months later in January 2004.

The Loughborough Academy has subsequently been incorporated into the East Midlands Tennis Centres Umbrella, which has 2 Performing Centres, Nottingham and Loughborough all overseen by Head Coach Martin Weston. Leicestershire is where the 2 boys have made big strides in their development and when they are not training or away playing tournaments, they use Leyland Tennis Club for practice. This is a great inspiration to the Leyland Tennis Juniors, who are coached by their dad Dave.
